MATT Racing suits

To start the runway, a 2-piece or 1-piece leather suit?
It's always more pleasant and enjoyable to ride on the track with a 1-piece suit, because your movements on the bike are more present and more exaggerated than on the road. The part between the jacket and the pants of the 2-piece suit could be awkward. But of course, if you're more suited to having a cup of coffee after a good ride or a good stuffing with your mates than riding on the track, a 2-piece suit will be more suitable for letting your athletic body breathe after sweating like a donkey, because with a 1-piece suit.... well, you'll have sleeves that caress the ground ;).
Is the integrated backrest removable?
Yes, because for track use, it's imperative for safety reasons to have a back protector with a Velcro fastening around your waist. Nevertheless, whether you're a track racer or a biker, all our suits come with a removable, CE-standard Smooth Ways back protector.
Is the back protector in your wetsuit approved for track use?
No, because, for safety reasons, it's imperative to have a back protector with a scratch around your waist. If you want to give it a go, it's up to the event organizer to decide whether or not to allow you to take to the track with your integrated back protector.
What's the aerodynamic hump for?
The aerodynamic hump is simply aesthetic for the everyday biker, but it can also be used to integrate a water bottle inside for long rides or road trips. The water bottle is connected to the front of the suit by a hose, allowing you to drink while riding. Nevertheless, the water bottle remains an option that you need to select when ordering your suit. For Pistards and other paddock champions, the aerodynamic hump lives up to its name, and everything is explained in the latter lol. It's standard on 1-piece suits and optional on 2-piece suits.
Are your suits waterproof?
Leather is a skin, so it's waterproof. However, the stretch Kevlar sections running the length of the arms on the inside and the back of the legs are not. On the other hand, our 1-piece suits are all perforated on the front of the torso and the top of the thighs, so they're not waterproof in these areas. However, you can ask for your suit to be completely or partially unperforated.
What types of protection are incorporated into your suits?
Our protectors are from the Smooth Ways brand and meet CE level 2 standards, which offer a higher level of protection than the level 1 products often used in the "standard" suits you can find at major retailers. To give you an idea, the material used is very similar to the more popular D3O.
Is there a difference in quality between the different MATT Racing custom wetsuit models?
All our suits have the same quality of leather, protection and finish. The only thing that changes is the level of customization. The 100% customizable suit in DESIGN and COLOR in 1 or 2 pieces is the GP. Note that a kangaroo leather suit is more expensive than a cowhide suit, because kangaroo leather is more expensive to buy.
What's the difference between cowhide and kangaroo leather?
Kangaroo leather is thinner, lighter and more extensible than cowhide, which means that a suit made from it can be much more snug-fitting than one made from cowhide. For the pilot, a kangaroo leather suit will be more comfortable to wear thanks to its lightness (around 3Kg less than a cowhide suit). Thanks to its extensibility and fineness, kangaroo leather wears more quickly, which means that pilots quickly get a suit that's comfortable to wear. To try it is to adopt it ;)

BLACK EDITION OVERALLS OR GLOVES

I've just received my BLACK EDITION wetsuit or pair of gloves (standard size) and one or the other doesn't fit, can I exchange them?
Good news! Since BLACK EDITION products are only available in standard sizes, we're able to keep a small stock of available products. It is therefore possible, depending on availability, to exchange your suit or gloves if the size doesn't fit (it can happen...). If it's in stock, we'll exchange it for you, and if we don't have your reference in stock, we'll start production so you can enjoy it as soon as possible! Please note that exchanges are possible once the order has been placed, within 14 calendar days.
I can't choose my size from the standard size chart. What should I do?
Yes, because for safety reasons, it's imperative for you to have the right size for the track. But don't worry, we're here to help you find the right fit. Contact us via the chat at the bottom of the page, by phone on +336 72 62 41 22 or by e-mail contact@mattracing-moto.com and we'll help you choose the size that's right for you! a back brace with a Velcro fastening around your waist. However, whether you're a racer or a biker, all our wetsuits come with a removable, CE-standard Smooth Ways back protector.

Taking measurements & customizing sketches

How do I send photos of the measurements taken after the visio?
Only by e-mail, via the MATT RACING transfer platform or by www.wetransfer.com. Be careful not to resize photos from your phone. Under no circumstances should you send them via Messenger or Whatsapp, as they will be automatically resized and therefore unusable...
I only have one person to help me take the measurements, is that enough?
Let's just say it can be done! You'll need a few extra items like tape or rubber bands to make up for missing hands, but it's possible! On the other hand, you can't do it alone!
I don't have a Messenger account. What should I do?
You can also create your own or install the Whatsapp application, which works just as well. You'll receive the contact details of the person you want to call for the video by e-mail.
What do I need to take my measurements by video?
To ensure that your visio measurements go smoothly, you'll need the following items: - measuring equipment: tape measure, felt-tip pen, string and possibly paint tape or rubber bands - a smartphone or computer equipped with a camera for the video and a camera or second smartphone to take photos of the measurements - one or two people with you to help you (measurements + photos) - your outfit: undershirt, sweater, down jacket, back protector - whatever you put on underneath.
I've just placed an order, how long do I have to send in my measurements, photos and sketches?
Once you've placed your order, you'll receive your "blank sketch + measurements guide" package. As the manufacturing lead time is 30 to 40 days once your measurements and sketch have been validated, we can only advise you to send them in quickly, so as not to be stuck for time afterwards when it's time to go out... However, if your purchase was made during a sales period, the maximum lead time for sending us your sketch and measurements is 6 months from the order date. Outside sales periods, this period is 12 calendar months.
If I take a made-to-measure suit, can I wear a sweater underneath?
When you take your measurements, we ask you to put on the gear you normally use underneath your wetsuit. So if you live with penguins and polar bears AND you're cold AND you wear a sweater under your usual gear, either put a sweater on when you take your measurements, or check the "I want to give my measurements a bit of amplitude" box on your measurement grid.
Can the "MATT Racing" logos change color or be removed/moved?
Although they're made of rubber and can't be moved or removed, MATT Racing logos can change color to fit in with your design!
I don't have any graphics software to create my layout or even add the colors. How do I go about it?
Very simple: you print out the blank sketch you received and give me a nice coloring ;) Even with a pen, it works as long as you specify which color you want in the caption. For the "popular" logos you want to integrate, download a jpg from the Internet, rename it with a number and transcribe it onto a second blank sketch in the desired location. For the less well-known logos of your partners, it's best to send us the latter's logo in vector format (.ai or .eps) in CS5 version or .pdf of very high quality.
How can I send all my photos at once without overloading my mailbox?
All photos, measurements and sketches should be e-mailed to contact@mattracing-moto.com. To keep things simple, use the multi-file transfer platform www.wetransfer.com: you upload your entire file at once, specifying your e-mail address and the e-mail address you wish to send contact@mattracing-moto.com, and click on TRANSFER. It's as easy as going through the first one!
Les photos sont-elles obligatoires ?
Yes! Go to question #3 to find out why and how....
How can I take measurements AND photos at the same time?
Alone, it's going to be complicated... Two is possible, but 3 is better! Photos are very important, as they allow us to see if the measurement was taken correctly. We don't need a photo of the measurement itself (the figure), but rather of how it was taken. That's why we ask to see the starting and ending points of the measurement. You'll need a good-quality photo to be able to read it properly. Use a pen or felt-tip marker to draw the small lines that will enable you to mark the beginning and end of the part to be measured. And don't forget to place the string around your waist, as your navel is not visible from behind... Last resort: the seamstress! But please note that following the guide is compulsory, even for professionals, and does not guarantee that your measurements will be taken in the event of a problem at reception. Go to the contact page to find out where you can have your measurements taken!

The "zen option"

Even though the ZEN suit has been validated, my customized suit doesn't fit me. What do I do in this case?
If your customized suit doesn't fit, even though your ZEN suit did (fit or not), send us an e-mail to contact@mattracing-moto.com with photos of the problem areas. As with all our after-sales service requests. As with all our after-sales requests, we'll get back to you to check the measurements together, and provide you with an answer and a solution to the problem, because our priority is to make sure you're happy with your purchase!
After fitting, I want to have my ZEN suit adjusted. Is this possible?
You've received your test suit and asked for a few adjustments for the final version, so don't worry, we'll take care of it. That said, you'd also like to have your ZEN suit adjusted in the same way. We can! Just send a request by e-mail to contact@mattracing-moto.com and our team will send you a quote for these adjustments.
Will my ZEN suit be equipped with the options chosen for my final suit (hump, integrated airbag)?
Exactly! The very principle of a fitting before the final outfit is to be in the same conditions. So your ZEN suit will be made with the same options you've chosen for your customized suit: hump, water pocket (perforation only), integrated MATT Racing Air-bag. On the other hand, your ZEN suit will still be made of cowhide, to keep the cost of a trial suit down. It will be fully usable in the same way as your customized suit.
Do I have to return the ZEN suit to receive my personalized suit?
Not at all! The ZEN suit option IS YOURS! You don't need to send it back to us to receive your personalized suit.
Does the ZEN option exempt me from taking measurements?
Unfortunately not... As with any custom-made product, you need measurements with the same requirements: photos, reference marks, sewing tape, etc...

After-sales service, alterations, repairs

I've just received my suit and it doesn't fit, can I have my money back?
On receipt, if you find that your suit doesn't fit, it's essential that you let us know as soon as possible, enclosing photos of the affected areas. Our team will then get back to you to understand the problem and possibly ask you for further measurements. If necessary, your suit will be adjusted or completely remade if the manufacturing problem is due to our fault. If this is not the case, we will offer you a preferential adjustment or manufacturing rate.
My suit has abnormal wear in certain places. What can I do?
Have you noticed abnormal or rapid wear of your wetsuit in certain areas for no apparent reason? Send us an e-mail at contact@attracing-moto.com with photos of the areas concerned. We'll get back to you with explanations and solutions after consulting the production workshop.
I fell in my wetsuit. Can I have it repaired?
Small slide or big waterfall? That's the question. We can repair your wetsuit (on quotation) but within the limit of the damage: if it's too big it won't be possible. To find out, send us photos by e-mail to contact@mattracing-moto.com and we'll be able to give you a repair price or a preferential price for a new wetsuit identical to the first.
I've gained/lost weight and my suit doesn't fit anymore. Can I have it adjusted?
It can happen, and we won't hold it against you... We love a good evening out with friends too! Once again, there are solutions. First of all, send your request by e-mail to contact@mattracing-moto.com with photos of the areas to be covered. Once production has agreed, we can either offer you a price for adjusting your suit, or a preferential rate for remaking an identical model if the modifications are too extensive to be made from your existing suit.
I've just received my suit and it doesn't fit, what can I do?
MATT Racing suits are made by human beings, not machines, and what matters to us at MATT Racing is that you're smiling from ear to ear when you wear your suit. A problem with your suit? There are two solutions: - Your after-sales service request is legitimate, proven by a good measurement thanks to the photos: you send us your suit and our after-sales service takes care of sending your suit back to our factory so that the production workshop can solve your problem free of charge. Photos of you wearing the suit and a new set of measurements will be requested before shipment to check your measurements at the time of your request. - You've overindulged in raclette and other aperitifs (depending on the season) which have made you 10kg heavier between your first measurement and the delivery of your suit. Then, of course, you'll be quoted a price for a new suit, depending on the extent of the modifications required. It's up to you whether you accept or not ;)
How do I "relax" the leather on my suit?
The easiest way... Wear it! And have a little patience too! The suits you can find at your local wholesalers or small retailers are, firstly, standard sizes (not made-to-measure) and therefore less "close-fitting" and, secondly, most of them have been made several months ago and are waiting patiently in the stockroom to be worn. As a result, their leather has begun to relax! A little tip: remove your inner lining completely. This will allow you to remove a "layer" of fabric. You can wear anti-perspirant textiles (leggings and a long-sleeved t-shirt) under your suit if you're worried about chafing. You'll already feel a bit better to start loosening up your leather on the way out. When you feel more comfortable, you can put your lining back on.
